Construction Project Manager – Data Centres

The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Project Manager to join a major data centre development in the Île-de-France region.
This is a site-focused construction management role, supporting the delivery of a complex mission-critical project from design and planning through construction, commissioning and final handover.
The successful candidate will work closely with contractors, consultants, vendors, engineers and internal project teams to coordinate construction activities and ensure the project is delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme, quality and technical requirements.
This role would suit a Construction Project Manager with experience in technically complex construction environments who is looking to develop their career within the rapidly expanding data centre and mission-critical infrastructure sector.
Key Responsibilities
Construction & Project Management
- Support the delivery of construction activities from design development through to commissioning and handover.
- Coordinate contractors, consultants, vendors and project stakeholders.
- Monitor construction progress against the approved programme.
- Attend project and construction meetings and provide accurate progress updates.
- Coordinate the mobilisation and onboarding of contractors, consultants and project resources.
- Manage project actions and ensure outstanding items are followed through to completion.
- Work closely with engineering, design, construction and commissioning teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Data Centre & Technical Infrastructure
The successful candidate will develop a strong understanding of the critical infrastructure supporting the data centre, including:
- Electrical distribution systems
- UPS and backup power
- HVAC and cooling systems
- Fire detection and suppression
- Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Critical infrastructure interfaces
- Mechanical and electrical services
You will work closely with Design Managers, Engineering Managers and Commissioning teams to support the transition from construction through testing, commissioning and final handover.
Programme & Commercial
- Support project planners with construction programme updates.
- Monitor progress against key milestones.
- Track variation works and construction changes.
- Monitor stakeholder actions and their impact on programme.
- Provide information for project reporting and forecasting.
- Support purchase orders, invoice validation and change-order processes.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager with a background in construction, engineering or technically complex project delivery.
Ideally, you will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in construction, engineering or project management.
- Experience delivering technically complex construction projects.
- The ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- Strong contractor and stakeholder-management skills.
- Good knowledge of construction programmes, quality management and HSE requirements.
- Excellent organisational, reporting and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience within data centres, mission-critical facilities, industrial developments or other technically complex environments would be highly advantageous.
Location & Working Requirements
The role is based in Île-de-France, with the project located in the Villebon-sur-Yvette (91) area.
A significant site presence is required, with candidates expected to be comfortable working on site for at least three days per week.
Language Requirements
English: Fluent / Professional proficiency – Essential
French: Professional working capability – Preferred
You will work with French-based project teams, contractors and stakeholders, as well as international engineering, construction and project management professionals.
