Construction Quantity Surveyor in Winchester, Hampshire

My client is the leading medium sized build contractor based in Hampshire; they specialise in a mix of traditional build and D&B projects typically from £1.5 million to over £20 million in value. 

Their "main works" projects range from commercial builds, healthcare, education, retail and social housing.

Their "special works" division concentrate on projects under £1.5 million typically renovations and listed builds.

They have won a number of RIBA and RICS awards for the quality of their projects.

They have a strong staff retention rate with a number of employees having worked there for ten years or more.

My client actively encourages career development and promotion from within and prides itself on their award winning training programmes.

Due to a recent restructure my client now requires a full time BUILD QS to join their award winning commercial team.

Role:

Projects will be covering projects across the south coast. 

Responsibilities:

· Measurement, pricing and evaluation of tenders

· Take responsibility of projects from contract award through to final account agreement

· Cost management

· CVR reporting and forecasting

· Reporting progress to senior management

· Management and administration of sub-contractor accounts

· Producing and submitting applications for payment

· Agreement of final accounts and completion of required client documentation to facilitate client approval

Knowledge / Experience:

· Professional Qualification (e.g. HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma) or equivalent

· Previous experience of Construction DESIGN & BUILD projects a distinct advantage

· Extensive experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors

· Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting

· Excellent team player whilst also holding the ability to work independently on own initiative.

· Excellent time management skills, with ability to work to tight deadlines

· Ability to encourage and support other members of the commercial team
