Construction Skills Teacher / Instructor – Alternative Provision Setting – September 2026 Start

Are you an experienced construction professional with a passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential?

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Construction Tutor / Instructor to join a supportive Alternative Provision setting from September 2026. This is a full-time, ongoing position teaching BTEC Level 1 Construction to secondary-aged pupils.

This rewarding role offers the opportunity to engage and inspire students who benefit from a more tailored approach to education, helping them develop valuable practical skills and pathways into future employment.

The Role:

• Deliver BTEC Level 1 Construction to secondary-aged students

• Plan and deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons

• Support students with varying educational and behavioural needs

• Create a positive, structured and inclusive learning environment

• Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback

• Encourage students to develop confidence, employability skills and a passion for construction

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• A strong background within the construction industry

• Experience teaching, tutoring, training or mentoring young people (desirable but not essential)

• Excellent communication and classroom management skills

• The ability to build positive relationships with students

• A patient, resilient and proactive approach

• A commitment to helping young people succeed both academically and personally
