Job Overview
We are working with a well-established and growing construction consultancy who are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Bristol office.

With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the residential, commercial, education, healthcare, and mixed-use sectors, the business continues to expand and offers excellent long-term career progression opportunities within a supportive and collaborative environment.

This is a key position offering the opportunity to lead cost management commissions from project inception through to completion, acting as a trusted advisor to clients and taking ownership of the commercial success of multiple schemes.

Working closely with the Directors and wider project teams, you will play an integral role in providing cost advice, procurement support, contract administration, and financial reporting, while also contributing to the continued growth and success of the Bristol office.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering full pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying services across a range of projects
  • Preparing cost plans, feasibility estimates, and budget reports
  • Managing procurement processes, tender documentation, and contractor appointments
  • Administering construction contracts and managing change control procedures
  • Monitoring project costs, valuations, and financial performance throughout delivery
  • Preparing and agreeing final accounts
  • Providing strategic commercial advice to clients and project stakeholders
  • Working closely with design teams, contractors, and consultants to achieve successful project outcomes
  • Supporting and mentoring junior surveyors within the team
  • Assisting with business development activities, fee proposals, and maintaining strong client relationships

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a consultancy environment
  • Strong understanding of cost management, procurement, and contract administration
  • Excellent client-facing and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable:

  • MRICS qualified or working towards chartership
  • Experience across multiple construction sectors
  • Knowledge of JCT contracts and standard forms of procurement
  • Previous involvement in mentoring junior staff
