Location: HQ Office located in Shenfield, Essex with a requirement to attend events, meetings and content creation days most weeks, plus select evening events, mainly in London. On occasion there will be travel required to other destinations, including overseas.

Job Type: Permanent Contract. 37.5 hour p/wk.

Salary: £25,000-£30,000 depending on experience

Job Summary: Content Creator
We’re looking for a Content Creator to join our team to support with all things digital – from filming and editing content for social media to writing copy for our website, and reporting from our own jaw-dropping events, as well as those held by our commercial partners, the likes of Schwarzkopf Professional, Babyliss PRO and Revlon Professional.
The ability to multi-task is a must! The role will see you creating content for our social media platforms, as well as for the website and email, so if you have a passion for creating content, this is for you. You will be working very closely alongside a fellow content creator, and report into the editorial director, with support from our Head of Marketing.
The role will be based at The Assembly’s HQ in Shenfield, well-positioned for the Elizabeth line and under a 25-minute hop to London Liverpool St, and easily accessible from the M25 & A12. You will be required to attend events, meetings and content creation days most weeks, mainly in London. On occasion there will be travel required to other destinations, including overseas.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy and Channel management
- Planning and maintaining the content strategy and calendar, alongside a fellow content creator
- Develop rich social and digital strategies to drive the reach and engagement for the Magazine and online platform
- Planning content capture, building & editing creative, and shaping the strategy for our own events, particularly Most Wanted Awards, the It List Awards, and Salon Smart, alongside Creative HEAD’s own coverage of partner event, HairCon.
- Management of all the social media platforms and community engagement (responding to questions and DMs, pro-actively starting conversations with the community)
- Scoping the Creative HEAD paid advertising strategy alongside the Editorial Director and Head of Marketing
Campaign and Content creation
- Working with a fellow content creator to create original content that will perform well across social, whilst considering content native to each platform
- Attending client events/studios to create content for social media
- Generating ideas for brand partners to budget/brief, working alongside the editorial director and partnerships managers to contribute to wider brand proposals to ensure highly engaging and unique content creation that stops the scroll
- Interviewing hairdressers, industry professionals and brand leads for social content and web articles. Preparing briefs and researching pre-interview is crucial.
- Managing ideas from initial storyboarding to publishing
- Featuring in content where necessary as a face of the Creative HEAD team
- Writing and building articles for the website, alongside a fellow content creator
- Writing e-shot content for our brands and commercial partners, alongside a fellow content creator
- Writing online event coverage and editorial as and when required
- Creating content to help actively and consistently promote Creative HEAD and its brands – the magazine (both print and digital versions) and its events via ticket sales/award entries, etc.
- Overseeing the prep of exclusive/additional content for the digital version of Creative HEAD magazine ahead of each issue going live
Reporting and Insights
- Generating and cascading regular social metrics reports, highlighting the success and growth areas of the content strategy across the individual platforms, with a view to growing our hugely successful Instagram (112k), Facebook (98k) and TikTok (9.5k) followings, and honing our LinkedIn approach
- Closely monitor and map Follower growth and channel engagement, identifying key milestones and targets for the department
- Generating post campaign report for commercial partnerships with key performance metrics
Is this you…?
- Extremely well-organised and very creative, with problem-solving abilities to develop engaging content
- Have a passion for storytelling and content creation, with exceptional writing and communication skills and a keen eye for detail, even when the pressure’s on!
- An excellent understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, X and YouTube
- Be reader and follower obsessed! Know who our community is, what they consume, how they engage with our platforms, and all-importantly, how to find their peers and invite them to join us!
- A confident presenter and presence on camera, with experience hosting interviews and holding conversation with big names from the industry
- Experience with using Photoshop, Canva and WordPress (they’re essentials!)
- While you are not required to be a videographer, competence in app video editing, for example Capcut, is required
- A people person who enjoys engaging with lots of creatives, both in the flesh at events and across our digital platforms, and a skilled collaborator, able to work with other departments to get the job done
- A multitasker who can manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Experience of the Professional Hair & Barbering industry would be advantageous, along with an understanding of magazines and publishing houses
