Contract PCB Design Engineer
Location: Southampton area (on-site)

A well-established technology manufacturer near Southampton is looking for a Contract PCB Design Engineer to join its electronics engineering team. The company designs and manufactures advanced industrial technology products sold globally, with R&D, manufacturing and product development all based on site. Several key new products are being introduced at pace, and this role is central to delivering them.
The role
Working within the electronics team and reporting to the Head of Electronics, the successful contractor will design, develop and update electronic subsystems across a broad product range. Day to day this will involve:
  • Creating schematics from requirements specification documents
  • Designing PCBs based on those schematics
  • Converting existing PCB designs into Altium Designer
  • Producing manufacturing documentation, including BOMs
Required experience
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout design
  • Altium Designer
  • Multi-layer design, up to 10 layers
  • Split plane design
  • Library management, including symbol and footprint creation
  • BOM management
This is a hands-on contract position with a business that is investing heavily in new product development. Candidates should be available to work on site near Southampton.
