Would you like the opportunity to play a pivotal role in leading quality assurance and quality control throughout a major chemical process plant project, for our esteemed client, a global leader in bespoke machinery manufacturing?
The Redline Group are looking for a highly-skilled Contract Project Quality Manager, to join a major engineering project situated in Yorkshire, on site 5 days a week. This engagement spans a 3-6-month period and centres around the construction, mechanical completion, installation and commissioning phases of a significant chemical process plant project.
As the Contract Project Quality Manager, you will lead and manage all aspects of quality assurance and quality control across the project, working closely with contractors, suppliers and a European supply chain. You will oversee construction quality standards, monitor the installation of piping and process equipment and ensure all works conform with the required engineering drawings, specifications and industry standards.
You will work closely with construction and commissioning teams throughout mechanical completion and system handover, managing punch lists and system readiness activities. The role will also involve coordinating third-party inspections, managing non-conformances, concession requests and corrective actions, as well as reviewing quality dossiers, LTQR documentation and supporting UKCA compliance.
This role has an indicative OUTSIDE IR35 determination therefore we can accept candidates who would like to operate through their own PSC.
Key skills required - Contract Project Quality Manager based in Yorkshire:
- Previous experience as a Quality Manager, Project Quality Manager or senior QA/QC professional on a major process plant, chemical plant or engineering installation project
- Strong experience of construction quality assurance, mechanical installation and mechanical completion
- Expert knowledge of process industry codes and standards relating to pipework, vessels, structures, pumps, valves and associated process equipment
- Experience reviewing quality documentation, quality dossiers and LTQR documentation for mechanical completion and system handover
- Strong experience managing NCRs, concession requests, corrective actions, punch lists and third-party inspections
- Experience working closely with contractors, suppliers, construction and commissioning teams
- An in-date CSWIP 3.2 qualification
- Experience supporting UKCA compliance and certification would be advantageous
- Relevant engineering degree or quality qualification would be advantageous, although significant relevant project experience will also be considered
- Strong report writing, presentation and communication skills
- Flexible approach to site work, including the ability to work weekends when required
