Our client is looking to recruit a Contract Administrator to join its Milton Keynes team in a newly created position that has been approved to support continued contract growth and workload demands. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive administrator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to gain exposure across commercial, operational and financial functions. 

The Role
This is a varied and rewarding position where no two days are the same. You'll play a key role in supporting the successful administration and coordination of the contract, working closely with commercial, operational and finance teams.

A key part of the role will involve managing and administering the CEMAR contract management system, processing client communications, tracking contract information and ensuring project records are maintained accurately. You'll also support document control activities, meeting administration, reporting and general contract coordination. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and maintaining the CEMAR contract management system.
  • Processing client communications, including early warnings, compensation events and requests for quotations.
  • Tracking and updating outstanding defects and completed works.
  • Maintaining accurate project documentation and filing systems.
  • Supporting operational teams with administrative and system-related tasks.
  • Assisting with financial and commercial administration activities.
  • Taking meeting minutes and maintaining action trackers.
  • Providing general administrative support across the contract. 

About You

We're looking for someone who has previous administration experience within construction, infrastructure or a similar project-based environment.

You'll be highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple priorities. Strong communication skills and confidence using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook and Excel, are essential. You'll also be someone who can quickly learn new systems and adapt to changing business needs. 

Essential Experience

  • Administration experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure or a related sector.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy and evolving environment. 

Desirable Experience

  • Exposure to NEC contracts.
  • Experience of contract administration processes.
  • Knowledge of CEMAR or similar contract management systems.
  • Construction or infrastructure sector experience.
