The Role
As the Contracts Manager, you'll:
- Review client requirements and drawings, conduct site surveys and develop scopes of work.
- Prepare quotations and tenders, assessing and negotiating supplier and subcontractor prices.
- Plan projects, coordinating labour, subcontractors, materials, plant and deliveries.
- Produce and review RAMS, ensuring project health and safety requirements are met.
- Control project costs and variations, keeping work on programme and within budget.
- Liaise with clients and store teams, managing snagging, handover and commercial close-out.
To be successful as the Contracts Manager, you'll have:
- Experience in shopfitting, retail fit-out, refurbishment, commercial fit-out or retail construction.
- Experience managing projects from enquiry and tender through delivery and commercial close-out.
- Commercial awareness and experience in estimating, quoting or tendering.
- Ability to read drawings, manage subcontractors and produce or review RAMS.
- Strong organisation and confidence working directly with clients and site teams.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Ideally, experience in live retail environments, particularly food retail or supermarkets.
- SMSTS, SSSTS, CSCS, IOSH or similar qualifications would be advantageous.
- Salary from £50,000 per annum, depending on experience and suitability.
- Company car provided.
- Permanent, full-time position based in the Walsall office with regular site visits cover locations from South Yorkshire to Cheltenham.
