An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Contracts Manager to join a growing and ambitious construction contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across the UK. Operating across Design & Build, Groundworks, Commercial Fit-Out, Brickwork & Blockwork, and associated construction sectors, the business has established a reputation for quality delivery, strong client relationships and a commitment to excellence.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured projects, we are looking for a commercially aware and proactive Contracts Manager to oversee multiple projects from pre-construction through to completion.
The Role
Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of several projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of multiple construction projects across various sectors.
- Manage Site Managers, Project Managers and subcontract teams.
- Ensure project programmes are maintained and key milestones achieved.
- Monitor project performance, budgets and commercial outcomes.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders.
- Drive health, safety, environmental and quality standards across all sites.
- Attend progress meetings and provide regular reporting to senior management.
- Assist with pre-construction planning, procurement and project mobilisation.
- Identify and manage project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Support business growth through excellent client service and repeat business opportunities.
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within the construction industry.
- Experience managing projects across sectors such as commercial, fit-out, groundworks, civils, residential or specialist construction works.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent understanding of construction methodologies and project delivery.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing programme and cost performance.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications (or equivalent).
- Full UK driving licence.
- £75,000-£90,000
- Car allowance or company vehicle.
