Contract Scotland are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing organisation operating across energy efficiency, renewable energy, EV charging, mechanical and electrical services, and maintenance.
We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the successful delivery of a range of projects across the West of Scotland.
This is a predominantly site-based role, ideal for someone with strong commercial and operational experience who enjoys being hands-on with project delivery, managing teams and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
The RoleAs Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for the effective management and delivery of multiple contracts from mobilisation through to completion. You will work closely with site teams, clients and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required standard.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the day-to-day delivery of multiple contracts and projects.
- Maintain a strong presence on site, overseeing progress and resolving issues as they arise.
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
- Monitor programme, quality, costs and overall project performance.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with contract requirements, specifications and relevant regulations.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates.
- Identify and manage risks, variations and potential delays.
- Review and maintain project documentation, RAMS and associated paperwork.
- Ensure health & safety standards are maintained across all projects.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure works are completed to the required standard.
- Assist with commercial management, valuations, variations and contract administration.
- Maintain accurate project records and ensure paperwork is completed to a high standard.
- Use IT systems and software to manage project information, reporting and documentation.
- Support the successful handover and completion of projects.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a Contracts Manager, Senior Site Manager, Project Manager or similar role, ideally within construction, building services, M&E, energy, renewables or a related environment.
You will be:
- Experienced in managing projects and contracts from start to finish.
- Comfortable working predominantly on site.
- Confident managing teams, subcontractors and multiple stakeholders.
- Commercially aware with a good understanding of budgets, programmes and contract requirements.
- Experienced within the housing sector would be highly advantageous, particularly social housing, residential refurbishment, maintenance or retrofit projects.
- Highly organised and comfortable managing paperwork, documentation and project records.
- IT literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly pick up new systems and software.
- A strong communicator with excellent organisational skills.
- Proactive in identifying and resolving issues.
- Able to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Detail-focused with a structured approach to administration.
- Committed to high standards of quality, safety and customer service.
Experience within one or more of the following sectors would be advantageous:
- Social housing and residential projects
- Housing maintenance and refurbishment
- Retrofit and energy efficiency programmes
- Mechanical & Electrical
- Building services
- Renewable energy
- EV charging
- Planned and reactive maintenance
- Construction or infrastructure
Relevant industry qualifications and a full UK driving licence are also desirable.
