Contracts Manager – Roofing & Cladding

 East Scotland & West Scotland | 2 Permanent Positions
£52,500 – £60,000 + Company Package

The EDM Group is delighted to be working on behalf of an exciting and established client operating within the roofing and cladding sector, who are looking to appoint two experienced Contracts Managers to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

There is one position available in the West of Scotland and one in the East of Scotland, with both roles offering the opportunity to work alongside some of the industry’s leading Tier 1 contractors.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager with a specialist subcontractor or main contracting background, ideally with experience working within a Tier 1 environment.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the successful operational and commercial delivery of multiple contracts simultaneously, taking projects from pre-construction through to final handover.

Key Responsibilities

● Manage multiple roofing and cladding contracts simultaneously.

● Take responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.

● Provide strong leadership and direction across project teams.

● Work closely with Tier 1 contractors, clients, subcontractors and suppliers.

● Oversee project programmes and ensure works are delivered on time and to specification.

● Manage site labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.

● Maintain strong commercial awareness across all projects.

● Monitor and control project costs, valuations and financial performance.

● Identify commercial opportunities and potential risks throughout the project lifecycle.

● Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with health, safety and quality requirements.

● Maintain strong client and contractor relationships.

● Work closely with site teams and senior management to ensure effective project delivery.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager with 5+ years’ relevant construction experience.

A background working for a specialist subcontractor would be highly advantageous, although candidates from a main contracting/Tier 1 environment will also be considered.

You will ideally have:

● Proven experience managing multiple contracts/projects simultaneously.

● Strong commercial awareness, including cost control and valuations.

● Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to handover.

● Strong leadership and people-management skills.

● Experience managing site labour, plant and materials.

● Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

● A proactive, results-driven approach.

● Strong attention to detail.

● The ability to communicate and conduct yourself professionally with clients, contractors and internal teams.

● Experience working within a Tier 1 environment.

Roofing & Cladding Experience

A detailed understanding of roofing and cladding systems would be highly desirable, including:

● Felt roofing

● Flat roofing

● Built-up roofing systems

● Single-ply roofing

● Aluminium systems

● Standing seam

● Rainscreen cladding

This experience is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate, provided you have strong Contracts Management experience within the construction sector.

Regional Requirements

West Scotland – MOD Projects

The successful candidate for the West Scotland position will ideally hold current security clearance, as the role will involve working on MOD projects.

East Scotland

Security clearance is not required for the East Scotland position.

Essential Requirements

● SMSTS – Essential

● Full UK Driving Licence – Essential

● 5+ years’ relevant construction experience

● Willingness to travel throughout Scotland.

● Flexibility to work hours as required by project demands.

● Strong leadership, commercial and organisational skills.
