A reputable defence organisation are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to support on important bid and commercial activities within their growing Electronic Warfare (EW) Division.

  • Role: Contracts Manager
  • Duration: 6-month contract
  • Pay: Up to £60 p/hr (Inside IR35)
  • Location: Luton (Hybrid)

You'll play a pivotal role in managing high-value contracts, leading commercial negotiations, supporting business-winning activities, and shaping commercial strategy across key programmes and bids.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading contract negotiations with UK and international customers
  • Managing the drafting, review and administration of complex contractual terms and conditions
  • Developing and implementing commercial strategies that deliver the best outcomes.
  • Supporting business-winning activities, proposals and bid submissions
  • Producing compliant customer pricing and commercial submissions
  • Managing contract performance, change control and commercial risk
  • Drafting and reviewing:
    • Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
    • Software Licensing Agreements
    • Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs)
  • Other commercial agreements and contractual documentation
  • Working closely with Procurement to ensure appropriate contractual flow-down to subcontractors

You'll have the opportunity to engage directly with UK and international customers, influence major commercial decisions and work on your experience across a broad portfolio of contracts and bids.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience within Aerospace & Defence.
  • Experience managing UK Government and international contracts
  • Solid understanding of export legislation, import duties and taxes, commercial risk identification and mitigation
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Contract law and commercial principles
    • Business finance
    • Profit & loss management
    • Margin and mark-up calculations
    • Escalation mechanisms
    • Foreign exchange considerations
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to influence and advocate effectively at senior organisational levels
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
