MMP Consultancy is seeking a Contracts Manager for an interim opportunity based in Nottingham on behalf of a Housing Association. The rate of pay is £30.61ph umbrella over a 37.5 hour week and a 3-month contract subject to possible extension. This is an excellent opportunity for an established operational leader with a strong background in repairs, maintenance and planned works delivery, looking to manage high-performing teams and drive service excellence across a social housing environment.

Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, you'll be responsible for the operational and commercial performance of repairs, maintenance, adaptations and minor capital works programmes. You'll lead directly employed operatives, subcontractors and supervisors, ensuring contracts are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget, while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of repairs, maintenance, adaptations and minor capital works programmes.
  • Lead operational teams to ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently and to agreed quality standards.
  • Manage contractor and subcontractor performance, ensuring KPI and contractual targets are achieved.
  • Oversee project budgets, cost control, variations and financial performance.
  • Ensure works are properly specified, valued and delivered in line with contractual requirements.
  • Maintain strong client and resident relationships, responding effectively to complaints and service issues.
  • Ensure full compliance with gas safety, NICEIC requirements and statutory obligations.
  • Conduct health and safety audits and promote a strong safety culture across operational teams.
  • Monitor performance data and implement improvements to drive service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee resource planning, workforce performance and operational productivity.
  • Support procurement activities and manage the effective use of materials and supply chains.
  • Produce reports and performance information for senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement and identify opportunities for service development and business growth.
  • Support senior leadership with operational management and strategic service delivery.


Requirements:

  • Significant experience managing repairs and maintenance services within social housing or property services.
  • Proven experience leading multiple operational teams in a performance-driven environment.
  • Strong contractor and contract management experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of responsive repairs, planned maintenance and capital works delivery.
  • Strong understanding of statutory compliance, housing maintenance legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of gas compliance, CDM Regulations, asbestos management and health and safety legislation.
  • Proven project management and budget management experience.
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience managing KPIs and service performance.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience managing directly employed operatives and subcontractors.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and operational management systems.
  • Ability to drive customer satisfaction, service improvement and value for money.
  • Trade background or technical qualifications would be advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly between operational locations.
