OVERVIEW:
We are working with a Berkshire based, family-run construction company that specialises in the restoration of listed buildings, with both private and public sector clientele, including high-net-worth individuals across private estates and specialist architects and nationally recognised organisations
You will be working in a growing business, alongside a highly experienced team to complete a wide range of heritage projects of high value and historic importance. You will be supported by the Managing Director, Technical
Consultants and Accounts Administration.
OBJECTIVE:
A Contracts Manager for this contractor is responsible for the successful completion of projects,
ensuring they are delivered within the contractual timescales and exceed expectations.
Client & Commercial Lead: Serve as the main point of contact for clients and architects, produce accurate quotes/tenders, negotiate supplier deals, and track project costs and variations.
Management of Projects: Run multiple projects from start to finish; creating work programmes, managing site logistics, enforcing quality specs, and handling post-completion snagging.
Team Lead: Supervise site teams and subcontractors, handle scheduling and time tracking, conduct annual reviews, and assist with hiring.
Health & Safety Lead: Act as H&S Manager for your sites by producing RAMS and Construction Phase Plans, delivering inductions, doing inspections, and ensuring CDM compliance.
Work Logistics: Reports to the MD; works Monday - Friday, 07:30-17:00 (with a 1-hour unpaid break).
What We Are Looking For
This role is perfect for an established Contracts Manager, or a high-performing Project Manager looking to take a definitive step up into a senior, strategic position.
- Experience: Proven track record within a UK heritage/restoration contractor, managing or exposed to multiple concurrent projects.
- Skill-set: Strong commercial acumen, excellent programming skills, and the ability to manage teams.
- Credentials: SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, and a full UK driving license.
