Contracts Manager

About you

You are an experienced Contracts Manager who enjoys having real responsibility for projects and wants to work for a contractor where there is genuine opportunity to progress.

You will ideally have experience delivering fit out and refurbishment projects, particularly within industrial units. Office fit out experience would also be relevant. The projects you will be managing will typically sit between £1m and £5m, so you will need to be comfortable taking ownership of projects of this size and working closely with the wider delivery team.

Your experience

You will have a strong background in construction as a Contracts Manager, ideally with experience working for a main contractor or specialist fit out contractor.

Your experience is likely to include:

Managing construction projects valued between £1m and £5m

Fit out and refurbishment projects

Industrial unit refurbishment and fit out

Office fit out

Managing project teams, subcontractors and suppliers

Working closely with commercial and operational teams

Managing programme, quality, health and safety and client relationships

You will need to be commercially aware, organised and confident managing projects from pre construction through to completion.

What you will be doing with your experience

You will be based from the company's Stevenage office and will take responsibility for a number of £1m to £5m fit out and refurbishment projects.

You will oversee the delivery teams, making sure projects are delivered safely, commercially and to the required quality and programme. You will work closely with the commercial team and senior management while maintaining strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.

The office currently turns over around £20m, giving you a sizeable operation to work within, while the wider business is around £65m.

There is also a strong focus on internal progression. The business has grown successfully and is looking for people who want to grow with it rather than simply take the next job title.

On top of the basic salary, you will receive a car allowance and a strong annual bonus, giving you a package that reflects the level of responsibility you will have.
