Control System Senior Design Engineer - Nuclear

To work in the Nuclear Silos design team, leading a team of Control System Design Engineers delivering, supporting others delivering and checking designs/updates to meet functional and business needs.

Essential:

Security Clearance: SC or the ability to obtain

Experience:

Control System Lead Design Engineer role on external multidiscipline projects, from concept design through to handover, with a working knowledge of the appropriate Engineering Standards

Experience of SCADA/PLC control systems and network architectures

Willingness to develop early career Control System Design Engineers

Able to:

• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a range of persons/teams
• Contribute to the development of programmes and estimates to support project/task planning
• Prioritise and assign work
• Understand, review and challenge control system requirements
• Deliver to challenging targets
• Report on design progress
• Contribute to design assurance tactics and reviews
• Provide design support during Procurement/System Integration
• Provide design support during Installation
• Provide design support during Commissioning

Desirable:

SL multidiscipline projects, from concept design through to handover, with a working understanding of the appropriate external and SL Engineering Standards

Experience in the production of detailed design packages; Drawings, Specifications (CONCISE), Outline Installation Method Statements, CDM design risk assessments, Residual Risk Assessments, in addition to the supporting Quality, Operations and Maintenance documentations

Experience in working with Control System/servo drive interfaces
