Control Systems Engineer

Hartland Recruitment & Advertising Limited

Control Systems Engineer

Something different for a Controls Engineer to get involved with.

The company designs control and instrumentation and electrical systems, systems to monitor installations, environments, pollution, emergency shutdown systems. Being legislation led, it’s a growing area.

They need a Control Systems Engineer to design and commission PLC control software for their projects- and troubleshoot or upgrade older projects.

The company has used Schneider PLC’s and HMI’s in each of their projects and designs for the last 10 years. Omron was used on all projects before that. Schneider experience would be good, but the company are open to any PLC software programming experience. (Rockwell Allen Bradley Siemens Mitsubishi etc)

Working on site, assisting others in the team with system testing and final commissioning of PLC, HMI’s and Drives, electrical systems.

Then upgrading the systems- developing one off systems – whatever the client wants.

It’s not a desk-bound job: Yes, you will spend time in the office PLC programming, designing and developing systems – BUT you will also travel to UK customer sites to commission, troubleshoot, support or upgrade some existing systems if it’s easier to do that on site. So you might find that you are 50% Office, 50% home or site.

Salary: at least £55000 basic salary.

There will also be extra payments – bonuses etc – and either a Car Allowance or a Company car depending on your preference.
