A growing engineering and manufacturing technology business is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join its expanding team. The company designs and delivers advanced automated equipment and process solutions used in high-performance manufacturing environments across a range of industries, including marine, aerospace, renewable energy and advanced composites.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical and control systems for automated manufacturing equipment.
- Create software solutions for machine control, monitoring, regulation and automation.
- Produce technical specifications, electrical designs, schematics and supporting documentation.
- Support projects throughout the full lifecycle, from concept and feasibility studies through to commissioning and customer handover.
- Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation.
- Research and implement new technologies and engineering solutions to improve equipment performance and manufacturing processes.
- Provide technical support and training to customers, both remotely and on-site.
- Collaborate with engineering, production and commercial teams to support project delivery and customer requirements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety and quality standards.
Requirements
Essential
- Degree-qualified in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a Control Systems, Automation or related engineering role.
- Experience developing electrical and electronic control systems.
- Strong understanding of industrial automation principles.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally when required.
Desirable
- Experience with PLC programming.
- Experience using Siemens TIA Portal.
- Knowledge of automated machinery, manufacturing equipment or process control systems.
- Experience supporting commissioning and installation activities.
