The Opportunity
My client who has been operating since 2015 is a growing provider of manned security and cleaning services. Their core services include, Key Holding, Alarm Response, Lock and Unlocks, Mobile Patrols, Vacant Property Inspections, Manned Guarding, Site Security, Retail security, Concierge Security, Door Supervision and Event Security for a diverse client base that includes; Councils, Care Homes, Schools, Academies, Universities, Gatehouses, Checkpoints, Zoos, Commercial and Residential companies. I am currently working in partnership with them to find a Controller. The key purpose of the role is to oversee operational matters from the control room. Duties will include covering blow outs, admin, guard welfare calls, scheduling etc. Working flexibility is a key attribute for this role as the post holder will work at least 40 hours a week (shifts to be decided).

Job Description:

  • To ensure that all client sites are covered, and that Officers are deployed in a cost-efficient manner with regard to client requests and company policy.
  • Accept allocated tasks from Department Management such as assisting with Call Monitor; Gaps; Confirmations as directed, in accordance with Control Room Training.
  • To liaise with all Senior Management and Field Team to ensure requests for shift changes, Officer concerns or relevant requests for assistance are dealt with quickly in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • To liaise with Clients and respond to Alarm Response calls to ensure they are met within a set timeframe
  • Complete accurately and in a timely manner all incident and accident reports, ensuring these are passed immediately to Management for processing and recording as appropriate.
  • To accurately and precisely record all Officer events that impact on business delivery, such as Officer blow-outs and sickness. To use the Audit Trail in Time Gate to record all reasons and changes made.
  • At end of shift ensuring a proper and full handover is passed to the Department Management regarding all relevant information and a summary of shift activities.
  • To adhere to all practices and regulations contained in your training and to regularly update own knowledge and ensure a clear personal understanding of all processes and procedures.

Relevant Skills and Experience:

  • Candidates must already possess a valid SIA license or be eligible to apply.
  • Must hold a full clean UK/EU driver’s license and be a competent driver, with proven ability of motorway driving in the UK.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills with good organisation and leadership qualities.
  • Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office and bespoke systems.
  • Should be able to prioritise and organise own workload and work within time constraints with accurate detail.
  • Must have excellent personal presentation.
  • Ideally experienced in the security sector or a customer services background such as Call Centre Operator.
