CONVEYANCING ASSISTANT (Residential) role in Harrogate town centre at Berwins Solicitors.

  • £25K - £28K depending on experience
  • Full Time - Permanent – Monday to Friday – 9am – 5pm with an hour for lunch

Conveyancing Assistant Duties:

Key duties include:

  • Working closing with lawyers to run case files
  • Day-to-day administration of the case files, ensuring that the matter progresses and the client is updated
  • Dealing with clients by telephone and email, recognising their individual needs and expectations
  • Liaising with other professionals and institutions, such as Estate Agents, Mortgage Brokers and Lenders
  • Completing relevant documentation, for example SDLT returns and associated documents
  • Using both general IT packages, (MS Office) and our specialist Conveyancing software and case management system (Leap)
  • Drafting simple legal documents, (under supervision)
  • Any other general office duties

The ideal Conveyancing Assistant:

  • MUST have experience of handling conveyancing transactions from start to finish, within a law firm/equivalent setting.   
  • Will have experience of using a conveyancing case management system
  • Will have experience of MS Office applications in a work setting
  • Will have excellent communication skills, written and verbal and enjoy dealing with people
  • Will enjoy working as part of a team and be prepared to help other colleges
