A foundry that puts its people first
We're looking for a reliable, ambitious Core Maker to join a well-established foundry in Stourbridge - and this is a great opportunity for someone who wants more than just a job.
This is a company that genuinely puts its people first. You'll be joining a supportive team where experience is respected, people look after one another, and you'll be given the time and support to learn the operation properly.
The role is primarily a day shift, 05:00 - 13:00, with overtime available until 17:00 when required.
There is one unusual part - your initial training will be completed on night shifts. This is only for the training period and is designed to make sure you get the right level of support and hands-on experience without disrupting the established day-shift production team. Once trained, you'll move onto the permanent day shift.
The role
You'll be working within the core-making department, operating Laempe / Omega core-making equipment and producing quality sand cores ready for the casting process.
You'll be responsible for:
Operating Laempe / Omega core-making equipment safely and efficiently.
Producing high-quality cores to the required specification and production targets.
Carrying out cold box core blowing and monitoring the process.
Inspecting cores for defects and maintaining high-quality standards.
Keeping production moving efficiently and maintaining good cycle times.
Safely handling moulding boxes, cores and associated foundry equipment.
Identifying and reporting any quality, process or equipment issues.
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Don't know Laempe or Omega?
Don't let that put you off.
We're not necessarily looking for someone who already knows every button on a Laempe or Omega machine.
What matters most is that you have solid, hands-on foundry experience, understand the environment, take pride in your work and are willing to learn.
The team are experienced, approachable and genuinely happy to buddy you up and teach you the ropes if the machinery is new to you.
Why join?
This is an opportunity to join a foundry where people genuinely matter.
You'll be joining a team that will support you, teach you the operation and give you the opportunity to develop your skills. If you've got the right attitude, reliability and a good foundation of foundry knowledge, the rest can be taught.
If you're an experienced foundry worker looking for a company where you'll be respected, looked after and given the opportunity to build something long-term, we'd like to hear from you.
