Cost and Funding Analyst in London, Greater London

Our client, a highly regarded London law firm, is seeking an experienced Cost & Funding Analyst to join its team on a permanent basis.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Costs & Funding Analyst to join the firm in a broad and commercially focused role combining legal, financial, data and risk analysis.

Working closely with lawyers, finance teams and senior stakeholders, you will play a key role in assessing and monitoring the financial and commercial risk associated with conditional and contingent fee matters, while supporting the continued development of the firm's costs and funding processes.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Performing detailed financial and risk analysis on conditional and contingent fee matters, both at inception and throughout the lifecycle of the case
• Preparing and monitoring cost estimates and matter budgets using costs management software
• Supporting matter teams with submissions to internal Risk & Funding Committees, including fee and outcome projections
• Reviewing Conditional Fee Agreements (CFAs) and Damages-Based Agreements (DBAs), ensuring appropriate approval and execution
• Liaising with legal teams, After The Event (ATE) insurers and brokers regarding the placement and administration of ATE insurance policies
• Supporting insurer audits and maintaining accurate funding documentation
• Extracting and analysing data from internal systems and spreadsheets to produce costs and funding reports
• Identifying opportunities to improve internal workflows, systems and processes
• Supporting the use of technology and data to develop more efficient approaches to costs and funding management

Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have experience within the legal sector and a background in Legal costs or financial analysis or accountancy
