Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling materials, operating forklifts safely, and supporting shipping and receiving operations. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse management systems, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to perform heavy lifting. The ideal applicant will have previous warehouse experience and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organised work environment.

Duties

• Operate forklifts to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse
• Manage inventory using warehouse management systems accurately
• Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying shipments and preparing goods for dispatch
• Perform basic equipment repairs and maintenance as needed to ensure operational safety
• Handle materials with care, ensuring proper stacking and storage to prevent damage or accidents
• Support overall warehouse organisation by maintaining cleanliness and orderliness
• Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues promptly
• Conduct basic maths calculations for inventory counts and measurements
• Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times during operations

Experience

• Proven experience operating forklifts in a busy warehouse environment
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is highly desirable
• Knowledge of equipment repair and maintenance procedures beneficial
• Experience in materials handling, shipping, and receiving processes preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs on equipment
• Ability to lift heavy loads safely and efficiently on a regular basis
• Previous warehouse experience demonstrating organisational skills and attention to detail

Salary & Terms

• £13.21 per hour
• Monday to Sunday – usually Friday off
• Morning 4 or 5 am start
• Immediate start
