Overview

We are seeking a skilled Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join our night shift team. This role involves operating forklift equipment to manage materials efficiently within our warehouse environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling goods safely and accurately, supporting shipping and receiving operations, and maintaining a well-organised workspace. Previous warehouse experience and mechanical knowledge are advantageous, along with familiarity with warehouse management systems. Responsibilities

  • Operate counterbalance forklift safely and efficiently to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse
  • Manage materials handling tasks, including stacking, organising, and moving stock as required
  • Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and proper storage of goods
  • Conduct basic equipment repairs or report maintenance needs to ensure optimal operation of forklift machinery
  • Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accurately
  • Perform routine safety checks on equipment before use and adhere to health and safety regulations at all times
  • Support stock organisation efforts to optimise warehouse space utilisation
  • Assist with general warehouse duties such as organising storage areas and maintaining cleanliness

Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating counterbalance forklifts in a warehouse environment
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems is preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshoot issues
  • Strong materials handling skills, including load & unload operations and safe lifting techniques
  • Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures and documentation requirements
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work effectively during night shifts
  • Basic mathematical skills for inventory counting and record keeping
  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks
  • Previous warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided where necessary

Salary & Terms

  • £14 per hour
  • Sunday to Thursday Nights
  • 10pm to 4am
  • Immediate Start
