Secondary School - Cover Supervisor
Monday - Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Pay: £90-£120 per day (depending on experience)

We are working with a well-regarded Secondary School in Southend-on-Sea, rated GOOD by Ofsted, that is seeking a dedicated and reliable Cover Supervisor. The school is committed to providing a positive and inclusive learning environment, supporting students to remain engaged and focused while maintaining high standards of behaviour and achievement.
Job Overview:
- This school caters for students aged 11-16.
- Full-time, Monday-Friday, Cover Supervisor role.
- Supervise classes across a range of subjects in the absence of the usual classroom teacher.
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure students remain focused and engaged with their learning.
- Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment.
- Follow school policies and procedures relating to behaviour, safeguarding and student welfare.
- Support students with their work and encourage positive attitudes towards learning.
- Manage classroom behaviour confidently and effectively.
- Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student engagement, behaviour and progress where appropriate.
- Build positive and professional relationships with students and staff.
- Support the wider school community with additional duties when required.
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting.
- Experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or similar role is desirable.
- Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
- Confident working with students aged 11-16.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A calm, confident and approachable manner.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- A proactive, positive and flexible approach to supporting students and staff.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
