About the Role

Abbey Multi Academy Trust and Dixons Academies Trust are seeking confident, reliable, and adaptable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in the Armley area of Leeds.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within two highly respected trusts, supporting students across a range of subjects and year groups. Roles are available on a flexible day-to-day basis, as well as in longer-term placements.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise whole classes in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring students remain engaged with pre-set work and maintain a positive and focused learning environment.

This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced Cover Supervisors, or individuals with strong behaviour management skills who are passionate about working with young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions.
  • Maintain a calm, positive, and structured classroom environment.
  • Manage behaviour in line with school policies and expectations.
  • Support students with their learning where appropriate.
  • Report any concerns to relevant teaching staff or senior leaders.
  • Adapt quickly to different subjects, year groups, and school settings.
We Are Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience working with young people (e.g. schools, youth work, coaching, mentoring).
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • A confident, professional, and resilient approach.
  • Flexibility to work across different schools, subjects, and settings.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor is desirable but not essential, as training and support may be provided.
