Are you confident, organised, and passionate about working with children? We are currently recruiting reliable and enthusiastic Primary Cover Supervisors to work in primary schools across Leicestershire.
We have both full-time and part-time opportunities available, offering flexible work during school hours.
The Role
As a Primary Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring pupils remain engaged with the work that has been set. You will maintain a positive learning environment, manage classroom behaviour, and support pupils throughout the school day.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Cover Supervisors, graduates considering a career in primary teaching, or individuals with experience leading groups of primary-aged children in an educational setting.
Responsibilities
Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff.
Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure pupils complete the work provided.
Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.
Create a positive, safe and engaging learning environment.
Encourage pupils to participate and remain focused throughout lessons.
Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil engagement and behaviour.
Support the wider school community where required.
Essential Requirements
Previous experience working with primary school-aged children is essential.
Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or within a similar school-based role is desirable.
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or a PGCE is desirable.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Confidence leading a class independently.
A positive, flexible and professional approach.
Ability to work school hours, Monday to Friday, 08:30-15:30.
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable (or willingness to obtain one).
