Your Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you'll play a vital role in ensuring learning continues when teachers are absent. You will:
- Lead lessons using pre-prepared teaching materials
- Maintain a positive, focused, and engaging classroom environment
- Support students in completing tasks and achieving learning objectives
- Manage behaviour confidently and professionally
- Ensure continuity of learning across a range of subjects
- Build positive relationships with students and staff
Subjects You Could Cover
No two days are the same. You may work across:
- English
- Mathematics
- Science
- Humanities
- Modern Foreign Languages
- Design & Technology
- ICT / Computer Science
- Physical Education
- Art & Performing Arts
What We're Looking For
We'd love to hear from candidates who are:
- Confident, adaptable, and resilient
- Excellent communicators with strong interpersonal skills
- Passionate about supporting young people
- Comfortable leading groups and managing a classroom environment
- Keen to gain experience in secondary education
Experience & Qualifications
We welcome applicants with:
- Experience working with young people in schools, coaching, tutoring, youth work, or similar settings
- A degree or strong academic background (preferred but not essential)
- Safeguarding training (desirable, but training can be provided)
What You'll Need
- Right to Work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Two recent professional references
