About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and confident Cover Supervisor to join a thriving secondary school on a long-term basis. An excellent opportunity for a skilled professional who has extensive classroom management experience and capable of delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects.
While this role does not require qualified teacher status, applicants with previous teaching experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
We are looking for an adaptable and proactive candidate who can quickly build positive relationships with students and staff while maintaining high standards of behaviour and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons across a variety of subject areas in the absence of the class teacher
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
- Ensure students remain engaged and complete the work set
- Provide support and guidance to students during lessons where required
- Maintain a positive and productive learning environment
- Adapt confidently to different classrooms, subjects, and year groups
Requirements:
- Extensive experience working as a Cover Supervisor within a secondary school setting
- Previous teaching experience, either as a qualified teacher, unqualified teacher, instructor, or tutor (highly desirable)
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- The confidence to supervise classes independently across multiple subject areas
- A sound understanding of safeguarding and the responsibilities associated with working in education
- A genuine commitment to supporting students' academic progress and wellbeing
