Cover Supervisor

Prospero Teaching is looking for experienced Cover Supervisors to work on a flexible basis across secondary schools in Hackney, starting from September 2026.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring students remain engaged, focused and well behaved throughout the lesson.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising lessons across a range of subjects
• Managing classroom behaviour confidently and effectively
• Ensuring students complete the work set by the class teacher
• Maintaining a positive and productive learning environment
• Following school policies and safeguarding procedures
• Providing feedback to teaching staff where appropriate

We are looking for candidates with:

• Previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor or in a similar secondary school role
• Strong classroom and behaviour-management skills
• Confidence working with secondary-aged students
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A professional, reliable and flexible approach
• A genuine commitment to supporting students' learning and development

• £95-£120 per day, depending on experience and role
