The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring students remain focused and engaged with their learning.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising lessons across a range of subjects and year groups
• Delivering pre-prepared work and ensuring students remain on task
• Maintaining a positive and well-managed classroom environment
• Supporting students with their learning where appropriate
• Managing behaviour in line with the school's policies
• Reporting any issues or concerns to relevant members of staff
• Building positive relationships with students and staff
• Supporting the wider school community when required

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be:

• Confident, professional and reliable
• An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
• Able to establish positive relationships with students
• Calm and consistent when managing behaviour
• Organised and able to work independently
• Passionate about education and supporting young people
• Experienced in a school or education setting (desirable, but not essential)

This role would suit an experienced Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, graduate considering a career in teaching, or someone with relevant experience working with young people.
