About the Role
Are you confident, adaptable and passionate about supporting young people in their education?
Spencer Clarke Group is currently working with a range of supportive secondary schools across Preston who are seeking reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to join their teams.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom to provide continuity of learning when teachers are absent. You'll supervise students, deliver pre-set work and help maintain a positive, focused and productive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise classes in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies.
- Ensure pupils remain engaged, focused and on task throughout the lesson.
- Support students with their learning across a range of subjects and year groups.
- Report back to teaching staff on student progress, behaviour and any issues arising during the lesson.
- Work collaboratively with school staff to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
What We're Looking For
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Experience working with children or young people is preferred, but not essential.
- Confidence supervising and engaging groups of secondary-aged students.
- The ability to remain calm, adaptable and professional in a classroom environment.
- A genuine interest in education and supporting young people's development.
- Flexibility and reliability to cover short-term and long-term placements.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
