A secondary school in Harrow is seeking an experienced Cover Supervisor to join their dedicated and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and resilient individual with previous school-based experience who can maintain a positive learning environment and ensure continuity of education during teacher absences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise classes across a range of subjects using pre-prepared lesson plans.
  • Ensure students remain engaged, focused, and on task throughout lessons.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with the school's policies and expectations.
  • Provide support to students of varying abilities, including those with SEND.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
  • Record attendance and report any concerns or incidents to relevant staff.
  • Liaise with teaching staff and senior leaders regarding lesson outcomes and student progress.
Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or within a school environment.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to confidently lead classes of students aged 11-16 or 11-18.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, organised, and adaptable approach to work.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience supporting students with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
  • Degree educated or relevant education-based qualification.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
