We are working with a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Northampton who are seeking a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their team from September 2026 or sooner.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their classroom experience, strengthen their behaviour management skills, and make a positive contribution to students' learning and development.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain focused, engaged, and productive. Lesson plans and work will be provided, allowing you to concentrate on creating a positive and well-managed learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise KS3 and KS4 classes across a range of subjects
Deliver pre-set lesson work and ensure students remain on task
Maintain a calm, positive, and structured classroom environment
Manage behaviour in line with school policies
Support students with their learning where appropriate
Report concerns and provide feedback to teaching staff
Undertake duties such as break, lunch, and corridor supervision
Act as a positive and professional role model
The Ideal Candidate
Experience working with young people through education, coaching, youth work, mentoring, care, or similar
Confident and professional classroom presence
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
Calm, patient, and able to manage challenging situations
Reliable, adaptable, and organised
Passionate about supporting young people and their education
Previous school experience is desirable but not essential
