Teaching assistant– Secondary School | Burton-on-trent| £100 + per day scale to experience |

We’re seeking a committed teaching assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Burton on a permanent basis.

 Position: Teaching Assistant
 Location: Burton-on-trent 
 Pay: £100 per day

As a teaching assistant you’ll be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects to secondary students. You’ll ensure classes run smoothly in the absence of the regular teacher, maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.

• • Support individual students – particularly pupils with SEND, learning difficulties, or additional needs.
  • Work with small groups – help students with reading, writing, maths, revision or specific subjects.
  • Support the teacher in lessons – circulate around the classroom, explain tasks, check understanding and encourage students.
  • Help with behaviour – reinforce school expectations, keep students focused and help de-escalate situations when appropriate.
  • Provide 1:1 support – work closely with a particular student who may have an EHCP or require additional assistance.

• Previous experience working in a secondary school setting

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

• Suitable for Cover Supervisors or experienced Teaching Assistants
