Cover Teacher

Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Salary: £110 to £200 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-Time | Term Time Only | Permanent or Long-Term Contract Available
Start Date: September 2026

We are seeking a confident, adaptable, and enthusiastic Cover Teacher to join a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Northampton. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher, ECT, or experienced cover supervisor looking to make a positive impact across a range of subjects and year groups.

As a Cover Teacher, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of learning by delivering pre-planned lessons during teacher absences and ensuring students remain engaged, challenged, and supported throughout the school day.

• Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a variety of subjects.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Ensure students remain focused and engaged in their learning.
• Support student progress by providing clear instructions and guidance.
• Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, behaviour, and lesson outcomes.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

• Experience as a Cover supervisor or managing a classroom.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• The ability to teach confidently across a range of subjects.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A flexible and proactive approach to work.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
• Experience working within a secondary school setting (desirable but not essential).
