About the Role

The Supply Register is currently seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Primary Cover Teachers to join our team and work across a range of primary schools in Dorset area.

As a Cover Teacher, you will play an important role in maintaining continuity of learning when permanent staff are absent. You will be expected to deliver engaging lessons, establish positive relationships with pupils and maintain a safe, supportive and well-managed classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons across different primary year groups.
  • Follow lesson plans and teaching resources provided by the school.
  • Provide continuity of learning during teacher absences.
  • Establish positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, learning and achievement.
  • Adapt your teaching approach to meet the needs of different pupils and classes.
  • Manage classroom behaviour confidently and consistently.
  • Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
  • Work effectively with teaching assistants and other school staff.
  • Follow school policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safeguarding and behaviour.
  • Provide feedback to the school regarding pupils' learning and behaviour where appropriate.
  • Contribute positively to the wider school community.
About You

We are looking for teachers who are:

  • Qualified to teach in the UK and hold QTS or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Passionate about education and committed to helping children achieve their potential.
  • Confident teaching across different primary year groups.
  • Adaptable and able to settle quickly into new schools and classrooms.
  • Calm, confident and consistent in managing behaviour.
  • Reliable, professional and well organised.
  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and school staff.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
