About the Role
We are seeking an experienced CAD Manager to join our Credit function in a senior management capacity. This is a hands-on role responsible for overseeing credit administration processes from initial approval through to post-completion follow-up and ongoing facility servicing.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that credit administration activities are completed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with internal policies, procedures and applicable regulatory requirements. You will also contribute to risk mitigation, process improvement and the development of less experienced team members.
The role will primarily support a portfolio of lending, including real estate finance, SME working capital facilities, Islamic finance and occasional syndicated lending.
Key Responsibilities
- Review post-completion files within agreed timescales, ensuring limits, interest rates, collateral and fees are accurately recorded and maintained.
- Follow up on the perfection of security documentation and ensure complete security packages are received and securely maintained.
- Oversee key credit administration and management control processes, including:
- Credit limit input and updates
- Interest rate changes
- Bank and trade finance limits
- Islamic finance limits
- Lien management
- Security perfection and registration
- Collateral input and maintenance
- Limit expiry controls
- Insurance checks and updates
- Remediation activities
- Repayments, discharges and releases
- Lease consent requests
- Ensure outstanding matters are tracked and followed up within appropriate timescales.
- Work closely with external solicitors on security perfection, lease consents, discharges, releases and other legal requirements.
- Handle audit requests and provide supporting documentation as required.
- Facilitate the empanelment of solicitors and valuers.
- Maintain accurate management information and contribute to reporting requirements.
- Contribute to property revaluations, including index-linked valuations.
- Maintain and update relevant procedures and operational guidelines.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the implementation of enhancements.
- Participate in Credit Administration projects and user acceptance testing.
- Coach and mentor junior and less experienced members of the team.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure transactions and processes are managed efficiently and within agreed service levels.
About You
You will have substantial experience within credit administration, ideally gained within a UK banking environment, with strong exposure to Buy-to-Let, residential and commercial property lending, SME banking and working capital facilities.
You will bring:
- 10+ years' experience in credit administration and related processes.
- Previous experience of people management or responsibility for supporting and developing team members.
- Strong knowledge of credit documentation, security perfection, collateral management and property due diligence.
- A strong understanding of risk mitigation and control processes.
- Experience working with solicitors, valuers, auditors and multiple internal stakeholders.
- Good knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory and documentation requirements.
- Experience with Islamic finance, particularly Commodity Murabaha and Diminishing Musharaka, would be advantageous.
- An understanding of legal conveyancing would also be desirable.
- Strong spreadsheet and database skills, with the ability to analyse and manage complex information.
