Credit Analyst in London, Greater London

We are recruiting an entry-level Credit Analyst to join the finance team of a successful international consumer-products business.

This is an administration-heavy Credit Analyst position offering full training and genuine scope to develop within credit control, accounts receivable and wider finance. Previous credit experience is not essential. The business is more interested in finding someone organised, accurate and keen to build a long-term career.

The previous person appointed to this Credit Analyst role was offered an apprenticeship and has since progressed within the team, demonstrating the development opportunities available.

THE ROLE

As a Credit Analyst, you will support the wider credit team with customer-account administration, credit checks, reporting and the resolution of account queries.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Setting up new customer accounts and ensuring all information and supporting documentation is complete
• Maintaining accurate customer records within the finance system
• Carrying out initial credit checks and gathering information to support credit-limit decisions
• Processing changes to customer details, payment terms and credit information
• Monitoring shared inboxes and responding to customer and internal queries
• Preparing and issuing customer statements, copy invoices and credit notes
• Supporting cash allocation and investigating unidentified or incorrectly allocated payments
• Assisting with customer-account reconciliations
• Reviewing aged-debt and order-hold reports and highlighting issues to the wider credit team
• Helping to resolve invoice, pricing, delivery and payment queries
• Liaising with customer service, sales, finance and other internal departments
• Maintaining clear notes, records and audit trails
• Producing regular spreadsheets and reports
• Providing general administrative support across the credit function

The Credit Analyst will receive training across all areas of the position. As your knowledge develops, you will be encouraged to take greater ownership of customer accounts, credit reviews and query resolution.

ABOUT YOU

This opportunity would suit someone beginning their career or looking to move into finance from an administrative, customer service, data-entry or office-support position.

You may currently be working as a Credit Administrator, Finance Assistant, Accounts Receivable Assistant, Accounts Administrator or Customer Service Administrator. Applications are also welcomed from school or college leavers with the right attitude and attention to detail.

Previous experience within credit control, accounts receivable or finance would be useful, but it is not essential. Full training will be provided.

DEVELOPMENT

This Credit Analyst position offers a clear route into finance within a large and established international business. The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced credit team and gain practical exposure to customer accounts, credit control, cash allocation and accounts receivable.

There is potential to undertake an apprenticeship or relevant professional qualification, depending on performance and development. The business has already demonstrated its willingness to invest in people and promote from within.

As you progress, the Credit Analyst role could develop into a broader Credit Controller or experienced Credit Analyst position, with greater responsibility for a customer portfolio, collections activity, credit-limit reviews, account reconciliation and reporting.
