Your new role...
Working as part of a busy Credit Control team, you will take responsibility for managing a portfolio of customer accounts and ensuring outstanding balances are collected in a timely manner.Some of the daily duties involved will include:
- Managing and maintaining a section of the sales ledger.
- Chasing overdue accounts via telephone, email and written correspondence.
- Building positive working relationships with customers to resolve payment issues efficiently.
- Allocating and reconciling customer payments.
- Processing and balancing incoming bank payments.
- Investigating and resolving account queries, proof of delivery requests and payment disputes.
- Liaising with internal departments and the wider sales team regarding overdue accounts and customer issues.
- Supporting the wider finance function and assisting with ad hoc duties when required.
The role offers a varied workload and would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership of their accounts while working collaboratively with colleagues.
What you'll need to succeed...
- Previous experience in a Credit Control, Accounts Receivable or Sales Ledger role.
- Confidence communicating with customers by phone and email.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.
- Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Experience reconciling accounts and allocating payments.
- A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to support colleagues.
- Good IT skills, including experience using finance systems and Microsoft Office.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone with a practical, can-do approach who enjoys being part of a friendly team and isn't afraid to pick up the phone to resolve issues.
