Our client, an established and successful manufacturing business, is looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team. Reporting to the Credit Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the Accounts Receivable function, maximising cash collection and ensuring customer accounts are accurately maintained.

Key Responsibilities for a Credit Controller:
- Managing the credit control process, ensuring customers pay on time and in full and supporting DSO targets.
- Proactively contacting customers regarding outstanding payments and managing the dunning process.
- Managing credit limits, credit blocking/unblocking and supporting credit risk assessments.
- Issuing monthly customer statements and maintaining accurate records of all communications and queries.
- Managing invoice and debit note queries, ensuring these are logged and resolved promptly.
- Allocating customer payments and receipts accurately, investigating discrepancies and keeping accounts up to date.
- Supporting credit insurance processes, including applications, discretionary limit reviews and reporting doubtful debts.
- Preparing month-end reports including aged debt analysis, credit note reports and debit note provisions.
- Supporting short-term cash flow reporting and other ad hoc finance requirements.
Key Skills for a Credit Controller:
- Previous experience in a Credit Control role.
- Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable and credit control processes.
- Confident and professional telephone manner, with the ability to be polite but firm when chasing payments.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to managing customer accounts.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with customers and internal teams.
- Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- Experience using an ERP system would be advantageous.
- Experience with credit agencies or credit insurance would be desirable.
- Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage targets effectively.
- Self-motivated, proactive and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
