Credit Controller

Are you an experienced Credit Controller looking to join a friendly, fast-paced finance team where you can make a real impact?

We're looking for someone who enjoys building strong customer relationships, takes pride in resolving queries, and is confident managing their own ledger to ensure outstanding payments are collected efficiently.

The Role

As a Credit Controller, you'll be responsible for managing your own portfolio of customer accounts, reducing aged debt, and maintaining excellent relationships with clients while delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage your own portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring outstanding payments are collected in line with agreed payment terms.
• Proactively chase overdue invoices by telephone, email and written correspondence.
• Build strong relationships with customers, resolving payment queries and disputes promptly.
• Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies to maintain accurate records.
• Allocate cash receipts and ensure customer accounts are updated correctly.
• Issue invoices, statements, reminder letters and other account documentation.
• Review aged debt reports and provide regular updates on collection performance.
• Work closely with Finance and internal departments to resolve queries and improve collection processes.
• Support the achievement of departmental KPIs and cash collection targets.

About You

• At least 12 months' recent Credit Control experience.
• Confident managing your own ledger and prioritising workload.
• Strong account reconciliation and cash allocation skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build lasting customer relationships.
• Proactive, organised and able to work independently in a busy environment.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and finance systems.
