Crisis Worker - SARC

We’re seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as SARC (Sexual Assault Referral Centre) Crisis Workers. This role provides critical support to individuals who have experienced sexual assault or rape, offering care during a time of great vulnerability.
As a Crisis Worker, you will support patients attending the SARC for forensic medical assessments, acting as their advocate and ensuring they receive the care and resources they need before, during, and after their visit.

Located in Bournemouth, The Shores operates with a committed team of on-call Crisis Workers and Sexual Offence Examiners. Our mission is to deliver trauma-informed, high-quality care to those who need it most.
Key Responsibilities
As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, your duties will include:
- Providing a welcoming and supportive environment for all clients and visitors.
- Arriving at the SARC within 60 minutes for callouts.
- Offering advocacy, emotional support, and guidance to clients.
- Ensuring clients have the information they need to make informed decisions about medical care, forensic examinations, reporting to the police, and follow-up support.
- Maintaining clear and secure records in line with SARC policies.
- Supporting clients in various settings outside the SARC, such as hospitals, prisons, or care homes, when required.
Working Hours:
Saturday and / or Sunday with the availability to cover either 07:00 - 19:00hrs or 19:00 – 07:00hrs. You will be on call with the requirement to attend call outs as required.
Salary:
On call you will receive a retainer rate of £55.08 per shift.
In addition you will receive a further £57.50 per call out and £30 per call for telephone advice with clients.
Any additional training and work will be paid at an hourly rate of £13.27
About You
Essential
- Healthcare experience or familiarity with multi-agency working
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Agreement to be added to the staff elimination database
- A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- The ability to pass an enhanced DBS check and NPPV Level 2 vetting
Desirable
- Training or qualifications related to supporting victims of abuse
- Experience working with vulnerable individuals
- Experience supporting victims of sexual assault
