Salary: £52,000 - £55,000 + excellent package (dependent on experience)
Shift Pattern: Continental Shift - Days & Nights
  • 7am - 7pm
  • 7pm - 7am
The Role
 
We are currently recruiting for a Shift Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical bias) to join a well-established and highly reputable FM provider, working on a prestigious data centre in Welwyn Garden City.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Level 3 qualified engineer looking for long-term stability, strong earning potential, and career progression within a company that actively promotes from within.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Working as part of a dedicated on-site engineering team
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive maintenance
  • Managing PPM schedules, logbooks, and statutory compliance
  • Ensuring critical systems are maintained to a high standard in a data centre environment
  • PPM tasks to include (but not limited to):
  • Emergency lighting
  • Fire alarm systems
  • General lighting
  • AHUs & FCUs
  • Plant room inspections
  • Associated building services equipment
Requirements
 
Mechanical or Electrical qualifications (Level 3 essential):
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Electrical Installations, Mechanical Engineering, or Plumbing OR
  • City & Guilds Level 2/3 in Electrical Installations, Mechanical Engineering, or Plumbing
Electrical bias only:
  • 18th Edition (essential)
  • 2391 Testing & Inspection (desirable)
Ideal Candidate
  • Mechanical or Electrical bias with a strong building services background
  • Comfortable working in a critical environment (data centre experience advantageous)
  • Client-facing and professional in approach
  • Well-organised with strong compliance awareness
  • Experience on healthcare or critical-site contracts is beneficial but not essential
