Location: Preston, Lancashire
Salary: £40,685 – £51,492 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Our recruitment agency is working exclusively on behalf of a leading specialist land-based education provider to appoint an experienced Curriculum Area Manager – Agriculture.
This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational agricultural professional to lead and develop a high-performing Agriculture curriculum across Further Education, Higher Education and Apprenticeships.
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Curriculum – Land-Based, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across the Agriculture provision, driving curriculum growth, teaching and learning excellence, student outcomes and employer engagement.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading, managing and developing teaching and technical teams.
- Developing an ambitious curriculum aligned to industry and employer needs.
- Driving improvements in attendance, retention, achievement and progression.
- Using data and KPIs to identify and deliver performance improvements.
- Building strong relationships with employers and industry partners.
- Supporting student recruitment and sustainable curriculum growth.
- Managing departmental resources and budgets.
- Ensuring high standards of safeguarding, quality assurance and health & safety.
- Developing provision around key industry priorities including food security, agri-food, agroforestry, sustainability, biodiversity, soil, water and carbon.
About You
We are seeking an experienced leader with:
- Significant experience within the UK agriculture sector.
- A proven track record in teaching, learning and assessment.
- Experience of leading and managing staff.
- Experience of using data to drive improvement.
- Strong curriculum development and business planning experience.
- Excellent communication, influencing and partnership-building skills.
- A relevant Level 3/4 qualification in Agriculture or a related subject.
- A teaching qualification, or willingness to achieve one within two years.
A Level 5 qualification or Master's degree would be desirable.
