Customer Account Advisor in Wrexham, Clwyd

We are currently recruiting for a Customer Accounts Advisor to join our established client in their Head Office on Wrexham Industrial Estate.

Working as part of the Credit Control team and reporting to the Credit Control Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customer accounts and supporting the collection of outstanding payments.

The role will involve a combination of inbound and outbound customer contact, with a strong focus on understanding why payments may be delayed, resolving issues and helping customers maintain their accounts within agreed payment terms.

Key responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of customer accounts and outstanding invoices.

Make proactive outbound calls to customers regarding overdue payments.

Handle inbound calls and respond to customer queries.

Understand and investigate reasons for delayed payments.

Work with customers to resolve issues that may be preventing payment.

Agree appropriate payment arrangements where required.

Build positive and professional relationships with customers.

Maintain accurate and detailed records of all customer contact and account activity.

Identify payment patterns and take proactive action to reduce outstanding debt.

Work towards individual and team collection targets.

Escalate issues where appropriate.

Ensure all customer and account information is kept accurate and up to date.

About you

We are looking for someone who is confident communicating with customers and is comfortable having conversations around payments and outstanding balances.

You will ideally have previous experience within credit control, collections, debt management or a customer service environment, although full training and ongoing support will be provided.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Good organisation and time-management skills.

A customer-focused approach while remaining commercially aware.

Experience

Candidates should ideally have either:

At least 1 year's credit control/collections experience, or

At least 3 years' customer service experience.

Working pattern and Salary

  • £27,000 salary.
  • Permanent, full-time position.
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm.
  • No weekend working.
  • No option for hybrid or home working
  • Office-based role at Wrexham Industrial Estate.
  • Company pension.
