Customer Operations & Logistics Administrator

We are recruiting for a growing food manufacturer that forms part of a successful global group, supplying customers throughout the UK with a wide range of delicious products.

This is a varied administrative role at the heart of the customer operations and logistics function. You will help ensure customer orders, deliveries and supporting documentation are processed accurately and efficiently, working closely with colleagues across customer service, dispatch, production and the wider operations team.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate customer details, order information and operational records across Sage, ERP and CRM systems.
  • Assist with sales order entry, order checks and customer acknowledgements during busy periods and team absences.
  • Prepare delivery paperwork, courier bookings, transport documents and dispatch information.
  • Monitor delivery queries and service issues, gathering the information needed to support investigations and resolve problems.
  • Keep customer files, shared trackers and administrative records organised and up to date.
  • Provide accurate information for weekly and monthly customer operations reports.
  • Coordinate the administration and documentation required for product sample deliveries.
  • Work closely with dispatch and other internal departments to ensure delivery information is complete and correct.
  • Identify recurring issues relating to orders, deliveries or paperwork and raise these with the appropriate manager.
  • Provide occasional shared reception cover, including answering calls, welcoming visitors and supporting with post, couriers and meeting rooms.

Reception cover is a small shared element of the position rather than its main focus.

What we’re looking for

  • Previous experience within administration, customer operations, logistics, order processing or a similar role.
  • Experience using Sage 200 or a comparable ERP/MRP system.
  • Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage several priorities and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
  • A professional and confident communication style, both over the telephone and in person.
  • A reliable and flexible approach, with the ability to follow established processes.
  • Experience within food manufacturing, foodservice, FMCG or another fast-paced environment would be advantageous.
  • Previous exposure to delivery documentation, courier bookings or sales order administration would also be beneficial.
