Customer Service Administrator – 6 month FTC (Sept – March)
Location: Rotherham
Contract: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Salary: £26 – 28k per annum
Elevation Business Support are delighted to be recruiting for a Customer Service Administrator on behalf of a growing and fast-paced business. This is a varied and hands-on role that would suit someone who enjoys a mix of administration, customer service, order processing and operational support.
Working within a small and collaborative team, you'll need to be an adaptable all-rounder who is happy to support wherever needed. No two days are quite the same, and whilst some aspects of the role can be repetitive, the variety of responsibilities will keep you engaged and challenged.
Key Responsibilities
Order Processing & Administration
- Processing customer orders received through the company website and third-party online platforms.
- Using internal systems to review orders and determine whether shipments can progress automatically or require further action.
- Verifying order information, shipping details, product selections and courier labels before dispatch.
- Generating shipping labels and ensuring all documentation is accurate.
- Uploading tracking information to customer orders and keeping records updated.
Warehouse & Dispatch Support
- During quieter periods, assisting with the picking and preparation of customer orders.
- Checking products against picking lists to ensure accuracy before dispatch.
- Supporting the wider team with general operational tasks to help maintain service levels.
Customer Service
- Responding to customer enquiries via telephone and email.
- Investigating and resolving issues relating to damaged items, delivery queries and orders not received.
- Providing a professional and empathetic service when handling customer concerns.
- Raising tickets and liaising directly with courier providers to investigate delivery issues.
Courier & Logistics Management
- Proactively monitoring shipments and courier performance.
- Chasing courier partners where delivery updates are required.
- Ensuring customers receive timely and accurate information regarding their orders.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys being busy and can confidently manage a variety of tasks throughout the day.
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience within customer service, administration, order processing or a similar role.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to handle customer queries by phone and email.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good IT skills and the ability to learn internal systems quickly.
- A flexible and team-focused approach.
- The willingness to support with light warehouse and picking duties when required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
