We’re recruiting for a growing, values-led business in Stockport looking to add an enthusiastic and proactive Customer Service Administrator to its busy customer service team.
This isn’t a role for someone who simply wants to answer the phone, process an order and move on to the next task. They’re looking for someone with energy, initiative and a real desire to make things better – whether that means solving a customer problem, chasing something through internally, improving a process or helping raise standards across the wider team.
You might already be working in telephone-based customer service, sales administration, account support or another busy office environment. Equally, we’d be very happy to hear from people coming from hospitality, retail or another customer-facing setting where you’ve had to think on your feet, take responsibility and go above and beyond for customers.
What you'll be doingWorking as part of a supportive Customer Care team, you’ll be responsible for looking after customers throughout the order journey and making sure they receive a consistently high level of service.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
-
Handling inbound customer calls professionally and efficiently
-
Processing customer orders accurately and providing regular updates
-
Proactively contacting customers regarding their orders
-
Answering queries and resolving problems through to conclusion
-
Managing complaints positively and within agreed service levels
-
Processing customer returns and payments
-
Gathering information from new sales enquiries and passing opportunities to the relevant team
-
Helping customers make the best use of online and self-service options
-
Liaising with colleagues across different departments to resolve issues
-
Looking for ways to improve processes, service levels and the overall customer experience
-
Supporting the wider business during particularly busy periods
Previous customer service experience would certainly help, but attitude and approach are just as important.
We’re particularly interested in people who can demonstrate:
-
Bags of enthusiasm, drive and a strong work ethic
-
A genuine desire to deliver outstanding customer service
-
Confidence speaking to customers, particularly over the telephone
-
Strong problem-solving skills and the determination to see things through
-
Initiative – you won’t need to wait to be told what to do next
-
The ability to stay calm and organised when things get busy
-
Good attention to detail when processing orders and information
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills
-
Confidence using IT systems
-
A collaborative approach and willingness to help colleagues
-
A mindset of continually asking, “How could we do this better?”
Your background could be in customer service, sales administration, account management, hospitality, retail or another fast-paced environment. What matters most is that you’re used to being accountable, dealing directly with customers and taking pride in doing a good job.
